Hi, I'm Scarlett and I'm a Type 1 Diabetic, too.
Like most newly diagnosed patients, I left the hospital after a few days with a binder of instructions and very little real-world guidance. There was no peer support waiting on the other side, no one my age to talk to, and no clear path to the community of people who had already lived through the same diagnosis.
Over time, I found that community through national Type 1 organizations, and it changed everything. The gap was never a lack of information. It was the months, sometimes years, between diagnosis and the moment a patient finally feels less alone.
Type 1 Ready exists to close that gap. Our goal is simple: every newly diagnosed individual and family should leave the hospital already connected to a mentor, to plain-language resources, and to a community that understands what they are walking into.
Day one support, for everyone who needs it.
